All of the local weather people predicted a 70% chance of rain on Saturday in . About 3:00pm it poured for about an hour and M.C. was scheduled to take the stage at about 6:05pm. The crowd was excited and I was about to bust waiting for them to hit the stage. While we were waiting the skies turned overcast and a couple of rain drops fell and I thought it is going to pour on us, but I would stand in the rain to see this group. Mint took the stage at about 6:20pm and I tell you no lie the clouds opened up and the sun came out!! The guys put on a hell of a show as usual. I had to straighten a guy out behind me about the band and Stokley’s drum solo because he complained that it was too long, when they were here in March. I can’t let anybody talk bad about MY GUYS. After our breif discussion we enjoyed the show much better and he said he understands the musicianship of Mint now. It was a great show my only complaint was that I did not get to meet them. I did get a chance to holler at O’Dell and Jeff as they were heading to the bus. I was a little mad because there was a small crowd standing by the bus trying to get pictures with the group and nobody came off of the bus. My plan was to leave the concert area during the last song “Breaking My Heart” and wait by the bus, but I got caught up in the music and missed my chance. Oh, well next time…. I still had a great time. I met some other true fans of Mint who drove about 100 miles to see this FREE SHOW in the park. I have to tell you that I have not been to this park in about 25 years, only Mint Condition could get me to that park. Here are some pics from the show.
Sorry to hear that you didn't get a chance to hollar at them, but I am told they were letting folks on the bus to take pics. You should had went over there. I was hoping to hear good news from you. I'm glad you liked the show and NICE Pix.
thanx for sharing love......looks like it was a good show and you know we have to take up for our guys...it's one in every crowd but he came out again right, glad you enjoyed it
Thanks. I was over by the bus but I wasn't one of the chosen ones...I need to be more aggressive next time..I'll see them again and I still love them.
I too was at the show, and they did not disappoint, what I am talking about they never do. I have been a fan since Meant To Be Mint in 1991. They never put on a bad show. The music is always on point and love4mc, I'm glad you were able to 'educate' the man behind you about Stokley's drum solo. LOL. However, the highlight of the day was the fact that I was one of the lucky ones to go on the bus and meet MC. It was so awesome. Not only are they great musician they were soooooo nice. I couldn't believe I was able to meet them. My sister and I got to the park at about 2:30 and were right in front, I was groovin with them from the time Jeff hit that first note until O'Dell got up off his knees to leave the stage. I went by the bus where they were and was turned away by security, but a few minutes later a roadie came to me and told me the guys said I could come on the bus to meet and take pictures with them. Why they wanna do that, I am not one to be "star struck" but I lost it when I got on that bus. I fell apart...LOL Just check out my pics (I'm in the pink shirt) and I will continue to love the 'hardest working band in the land' MINT CONDITION I am a fan for life!!!!!
PS....I know I was cheesin too much, but cut me some slack, I was with the 'band' of my dreams...LOL
I'm glad you got to meet them stokleyfan4life. Love the BIG smiles ![]()
