I had the great opportunity to see Mint Condition not only in concert but in OHIO 1/2 mile away. This was special for me since they haven't been to Ohio since 1993 or 04 but never-the-less my husband and 3 of my 4 children went and had a blast. The concert started with the winner of a karaoke contest, in my opinion she had a better voice than some of the professional opening acts and they had a lot of them starting with a rap artist Kenny Ali and singer (something) Elise (don't remember her first name) both were local artist. The second heavy hitter was Silk a R&B early 90's group produced by Keith Sweat in which they gave homage to through out the show at various times. Truthfully I can only remember one of their hits "Freak Me". although many love their kind of music it really wasn't the type of music that I would spend money for but the harmonies were off the hook. They put on a great show for the mature audience but I could have done without some of their antics. Such as pulling ladies on the stage and grinding on them and at one point one singer pulled a woman on the stage with one of the largest bottom half in the audience ( she had to weigh about 185-190lbs) put her legs around his neck and began to giggle her buttock at the same time had her veejayjay on his MOUTH! and that's not all he held her up for longer than any man with brute strength could naturally do. This went on and on. So yeah I became kinda tired of that real quick but I especially like little G, he was a character he did great impersonations of Keith Sweat, Prince and some others and he might be small in stature but he is strong as a ox he was entertaining by himself. Never the less I was waiting to exhale when Mint Condition took the stage Stokely had so much energy he was like a rocket ready to fly in front of 7 thousand people the house was full and you know Mint can show off when that many people are there. ODell said "I thought we only had 3 fans in Ohio, but those 3 told 3 more and so on and so and now look 7 thousand strong" Now the concert was Sunday and today is Thursday but technically Friday 1:47am and the song list has now gotten foggy but Thank You was first on the order of songs Stokley with his Military Style Jacket and jeans but this is in no particular order, Some one to love (original version) Spend The Night, Whoa,Baby Boy,Swingin, Drum solo, Asher in Rio, Breakin My Heart and that's all this memory is holdin folks. We sat in the nose bleed section and really didn't get to many pics. The last thing I want to share is., I was trying desperately to get back stage passes because I knew that if were sitting that far away the kids really wouldn't be able to see the band that good. So in a last ditch effort to secure passes I sent O a note on Myspace. I explained how we were bringing the kids and they really wanted to meet them I sent the note on Saturday and the concert was Sunday. I really didn't expect a response and truthfully, I plain forgot I sent it with having the baby dedication scheduled the same day and a birthday party to attend and the concert. O sent me a note right back and said that when they get into town he will send a note on my space and hook us up. Guess what I DIDN'T CHECK MYSPACE and missed out on a great opportunity I wrote him back yesterday and explained what happened. He was such a gentleman and said he was glad that we had a good time anyway. This guy's are class acts for sure that's why they have a loyal following because they genuinely care. I have a couple of far away pics I'll upload later,I promised Jameela I would get Silk and I did get one good shot of them but it's getting late so I'm signing off for now. Thanks for sharing your fun time at the concert. Why didn't you go to the backstage entrance and wait for the fellas? They don't have backstage passes anymore, the fellas come out and talk to the fans who had waited. It was probably late, I understand. That was cool that Homer did that for you, by messaging it does show he has consideration for the fans. They will probably get back to OH before they step into FL. THEY DON'T like FL, IMHOP! lol! I will be alright. I maybe moving on anyway.
I LOVED the part about Silk. Which member picked up the woman and had her privates near his mouth? I hope she had on panties, ahahahahahhaha! eeeewl!

Anyway, don't melt down they will be back and I'm already preparing my clan to go enoy some warm weather when they do. I've seen Lil G live before but that was at a Madea Family Reunion play at the Regal Theatre in Chicago in '02. I had the opportunity to see Silk free at Universal Studios City Walk in '04, but my hubby wasn't too fond so he waited til near show time to get in and the line was wound up around the venue and out into the general walkway. Needless to say, I wasn't standing in a line that long, so I missed out on Silk and free food. The hubby is a Hater! ahahaa.
Maybe Silk will come back South to Florida. They probably will before the fellas do. Did you want me to post the video in here?
