Its been a little over 5 months since I last seen Mint Condition and it was HARD for me to muster up excitement, I had a "feeling" something would not go right. At any rate, I began my journey to Jacksonville from Central Florida without any trip delays. Well, sort of ...I didn't get the directions to the venue from Mapquest, but from Ticketmaster...their directions were like reading a fortune out of a fortune cookie, "It didn't make no gosh darned sense". So we drove past the exit to the venue and I pointed it out to my husband, ha, we turned onto the next one and drove back to it. I tell you if we hadn't seen the convention center from the interstate it would had been hard to find. Now we get to the venue and go inside and wait til the show starts. I was under the assumption that the fellas were starting first, because that is what was told to me by their manager...anyway...En Vogue came on and lets say this, "They still sound good" I can't get into folks who's show seem put together at the spur of the moment. They did a medley of other female artists songs from the seventies, for most of their show. I think they sang about 5 of their own songs. All the original members were there Terri, Maxi, Dawn and Cindy. Upon their exit we could here "Moan" playing, and the stagehands came out to set up for Mint Condition. Then "Back and Forth" came on but I had to leave for a moment to get a soda. When we came back,"Right here" was playing and no sooner did we sit down the lights dimmed and you could hear Stokley from the back. Don't ask me what he was sanging because my attention was drawn to the stage because no one had come out yet. Finally out walks Rick, Larry, Odell and Jeff to their instruments and same spots on the stage to "E Life". Out runs Stokley to his spot and they start the show off with "Gratitude". They did the following songs, I can't recall the order, Devotion, Someone to love, What kind of man would I be, Nothing left to say, Quit Breakin' my heart(Pretty Brown Eyes), So Fine, U send me swingin', Whoa!
When they rocked out on "It's hard" they warned the crowd, lol. I have to say this crowd was so stiff and subdued that I guess they knew they were going to have to warn them of it, hahaha! I mean, Stokley was asking for call and response and only the Mint Condition fans in the audience participated. Couldn't the others had been cordial? I take that back, they didn't show En Vogue much love neither. Mint Condition did break the ice with the crowd before leaving the stage and they did get loud applause in between songs and even after the Rock song, "It's hard". After the show, my husband, Pat and Curtis were waiting outside for the Meet and Greet. I had an inkling it would not go down because they didn't mention it while on stage well It never happened. The fellas performed and left the building. Let's just say I am so happy I didn't travel too far to see them. I have video I will put up later. Peace.

I wonder what the heck happened to the m-&-g: what the hell?!?

Sounds like they did what you expected them to do, no more, no less, which is unfortunate. Did you and the fellas ever get to kick it? Why do you think the audience was so subdued? I wonder what people like that are expecting, the second coming?!? Performers feed off the audience's energy, that's why they need it from us!!!

Anyway, glad to see that EnVogue still has it, and that at least the fellas sounded good. Appreciate the wrap-up!!!

Who knows what happened with the MnG??? No, I didn't get a chance to kick it with them, I only spoke with their manager and hugged him and he apologized for the sound quality of the show. I told him they sound great as always and that the feedback on a few songs didn't detract from their show. He said he had to come and help the sound person. The lighting folks were no better, lol. Maybe its like you said they feed off the crowds energy and since it was lackluster they just jetted, but they could had hollared at their Floridian Fam.
